ASE Group of Companies project “Construction of Unit 3 of Rostov power plant” took the second place in IPMA Project Excellence Award 2017 competition in the Mega-project nomination. The results were announced in the course of the 30th IPMA World Congress which took place in Kazakhstan on September 5-7.
4 companies were fighting for the victory in the Mega-project nomination: one from Russia, one from Indonesia and two from China. The first place was taken by the nominee from China. According to Director for System Engineering and Information Technologies of JSC ASE EC Vyacheslav Alenkov, that was a sport close competition: “the leaders scored approximately 100 points, and the difference between the first and the second place was one point”.
“In our project, for the first time there was applied, in full volume, the project management system on the basis of Multi-D technology which allows effective managing of such important parameters as budget, deadlines, quality. At Rostov NPP construction site there was created the whole studio of visual modeling – with 3D glasses, with full-featured virtual space. Nobody in the world nowadays use such set of tools in complex”, clarified Vyacheslav Alenkov.
As mentioned by jurymen, the Russian and Chinese companies showed unprecedentedly high results, thus increasing the world level of project management.
“For us, as for the engineering company covering the third part of the world market of nuclear power plants construction, the assessment of the current state and development of the management potential are an important fact of increasing the competitiveness. Last year we were the first in Russia to get the international certificate of compliance with the 3-rd class of competitiveness in the sphere of management of projects, programs, portfolios as per IPMA Delta. Now we are actively preparing for achieving the highest – the fourth class. And the fact that only one point separated us from the winner of IPMA Project Excellence Award 2017, proves that we managed to construct the project management system of high international level”, pointed out Senior Vice President for Development of JSC ASE EC Ivan Borisov.
