On June 24-25, 2021, the first joint volunteer action with the participation of representatives of Paks NPP, Paks-2 NPP, ASE EC JSC (Russian General Contractor) and Rosatom Central Europe took place in the city of Kalocsa (Hungary).
Over 20 volunteers from Hungarian and Russian nuclear companies repaired and painted benches on the nursing home premises, planted flowers, built comfortable gazebos and decorated them with national patterns.
Geza Filvig, Mayor of Kalocsa, Chairman of the Control, Information and Regional Development Organization (TEIT) comprising 16 settlements in the Paks NPP vicinity, thanked the volunteers and expressed his high opinion of their work. “On the cusp of the large project - the Paks-2 NPP construction, this initiative helps get to know each other better, get to know the builders of the future plant and the local population, and strengthen our trust-based relationship,” he said.
2021 is the year of volunteering in Hungary. A number of similar actions are planned to take place in the settlements in the Paks NPP vicinity this year. The event took place with the organizational support of Rosatom Central Europe.
