The International Construction Championship will be held in Kazan (Russia) on October 5-8, 2022. The event is co-organized by the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation, ROSATOM and Gazprom Invest LLC.

The leaders of power engineering and industrial construction in Russia will hold an International Construction Championship, which will bring together all participants of the construction industry from all around the world. Invitations to participate in the Championship have been received by representatives of business community, public authorities, construction organizations, as well as students from 26 countries: The BRICS countries, the EAEU, the CIS, as well as the teams of Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh, the UAE, Hungary, Iran, Serbia and Israel, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Kuwait, the State of Qatar.

The International Construction Championship is a unique platform designed to become a large-scale international center for demonstrating construction competencies and state-of-the-art technologies. The main objectives of the Championship are to develop international cooperation and enhance the labor productivity of workers in the industrial construction industry. On the basis of the event, a platform was organized for discussing strategically important issues and making decisions on the development of industrial construction both in Russia and abroad.

The Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Irek Faizullin is confident that the holding of the International Construction Championship is necessitated by the need to develop comprehensive cooperation: "By the decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States of November 6, 2020, the annual holding of the Championship is included in the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Concept of Interregional and Cross-Border Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030. The holding of the 2nd Championship will serve to solve the tasks facing the governments of developing countries and will become a center for the formation of effective industrial cooperation with business partners and foreign countries in the field of construction. The experience of building energy infrastructure facilities among Russian specialists makes it possible to implement highly efficient projects. There are real professionals of industrial construction in this country, and we can share our own best practices and consider the experience of colleagues from abroad".

The main vectors of the business program of the Championship are dedicated to the comprehensive development of territories, the search for solutions to strategically important objectives for the development of industrial construction and new challenges for the world economy. An entire block of work will focus on new technologies and tools in construction. An international track dedicated to cooperation chains in the EAEU and CIS markets, the formation of new logistics chains, technical regulation and standards will become an area in its own right.

The Championship participants will be able to find partners and consolidate informal arrangements with new agreements. "The capital construction program of ROSATOM is today one of Russia's largest; in 2022, the funding allocated amounted to about 1 trillion rubles. We are radically expanding the range of competencies in construction, building the most modern nuclear power units in Russia and abroad, research and experimental reactors, nuclear medicine centers. We act as a technical customer or exercise construction supervision in a variety of projects. We are ready to share our competencies, and the International Construction Championship is the right platform for demonstrating and sharing professional skills. This year, the competition between experienced and young specialists from 26 countries will be held in 20 nominations in three areas: design of industrial facilities, industrial construction and construction project management. The prize fund of the Championship will amount to more than 44 million rubles," comments Alexey Likhachev, CEO of ROSATOM.

Vyacheslav Tyurin, CEO of Gazprom Invest LLC, adds that sharing the experience and conveying the expertise on the construction of industrial facilities has a positive effect on the economy: "Gazprom Invest LLC is the key investor and customer of the construction of industrial facilities of federal significance for Gazprom PJSC. Among our projects are the construction of the world's largest gas pipelines, the development of fields throughout the country from the Baltic Sea to Russia's Arctic. I am confident that the integrated development of territories, and construction in particular, have, in general, an extremely positive impact on the economy around the world and, of course, open up new opportunities for realizing the existing potential of domestic and foreign companies operating in virtually all industries".

The event will take place in Kazan, a city that is one of Russia's largest economic, scientific and cultural centers. The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan has already hosted the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 2019 WorldSkills National Championship and the IX International Sports Forum "Russia is a Sports Power!"
