Based on the research carried out by RBC, ROSATOM hit top 10 Russia’s largest taxpayers following the 2016 results. ROSATOM took the 8th place paying RUB 125.3 billion (with the proceeds of RUB 864.6 billion).
Of RUB 125.3 billion, it paid RUB 82.4 billion to the federal budget, RUB 42.3 billion to budgets of the federal subjects of Russia, and RUB 0.6 billion to local budgets. ROSATOM’s subsidiaries paid taxes as follows; JSC TVEL paid the largest amount (RUB 29.2 billion), Rosenergoatom was the second (RUB 22 billion), and TENEX was the third (RUB 10.1 billion).
Only five oil & gas companies, Sberbank and Russian Railways paid more than ROSATOM to the budget of the Russian Federation. With that, ROSATOM turned out to be the largest taxpayer of the country among all companies of the energy sector of the national economy.

The RBC rating has been generated based on the analysis of consolidated reports of 100 largest companies of Russia by the amount of proceeds (RBC 500 for 2016). The research was based on reliability of largest tax residents in paying mandatory payments. The companies disclosing tax payments in the reporting period (social payments in extra-budgetary funds and income tax excluded) were selected and rated.
