On June 5, 2022, the first pan-African exhibition and conference "Africa Health ExCon 2022", dedicated to the healthcare and pharmacology market, started in Cairo, Egypt. The event is held under the patronage of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and brings together delegates and participants from more than 100 countries.
Rosatom participates in the exhibition program of the event with a booth dedicated to Rosatom's product solutions in the field of nuclear medicine. Today, Rosatom is one of the five largest global suppliers of raw isotope products used in the diagnosis and treatment of oncological, cardiological, neurological and other diseases. The Rusatom Healthcare Division is a manufacturer of medical equipment for radiation and brachytherapy, offering solutions for cyclotron complexes, implementing projects for the construction of nuclear medicine centers in several regions of Russia and building a network of multifunctional centers for the processing and sterilization of medical devices and other products.
The cyclotron complex will be a key element of the exhibition booth. Cyclotrons have been produced by the enterprises of the Russian nuclear industry for more than 60 years. In total, more than 20 Russian-made cyclotron complexes have been successfully delivered to 12 countries. Cyclotrons are used in radionuclide diagnostic centers and research medical institutions, significantly increasing the chances of cure due to the detection of diseases at an early stage of diagnosis (up to 95% of patients). In addition, the booth will present information about medical equipment for the treatment of oncological diseases - the gamma-therapeutic complex "Brachium" and the radiation therapy complex based on the electron accelerator "Onyx" - 6 MeV (KLT-6). Visitors will also get acquainted with Rosatom's proposals for processing products with ionizing radiation and other Rosatom products in the field of non-energy technologies.
