In February 2017 Russian NPPs (branch companies of Rosenergoatom Concern) increased the total amount of electric energy generation for 3.79% compared with the same period in 2016.

Total amount of generation by all Concern’s NPPs in this year February was 17.80 billion kWh (as opposed to 17.157 billion kWh over the same period in 2016).

Capacity factor from the beginning of 2017 is 95.1%.

Total electric energy generation by all Russian NPPs from the beginning of 2017 is more than 38.02 billion kWh (on 03.03.2017). The FAS balance is exceeded for about 1.36 billion kWh.

It is to be recalled that in 2016 Russian NPPs exceeded the achievement of 2015 on amount of electric energy generation, having increased the total generation for more than one billion – up to 196.366 billion kWh (as opposed to 195.213 billion kWh in the previous year).

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has approved the 2017 plan on electric energy generation for Russian NPPs in amount of 199.8 billion kWh of electric energy.

At the present time Russian NPPs generate about 18.6% of all the country’s amount of electric energy generation.

For reference:

The Rosenergoaton Concern (the power division of the Rosatom State Corporation) includes 10 Russian nuclear power stations bearing the status of the Concern’s affiliate companies, along with the vendors catering for the needs of the generation company. All in all, the 10 nuclear power stations operate 35 power blocks* (*excluding the Novovoronezh NPP’s 6th power block being at the pilot production stage): 18 of them operate VVER reactors (12 VVER-1000 power blocks and 5 VVER-440 power blocks of different modifications); 15 of them with channel reactors (11 power blocks with RMBK-1000 reactors, four power blocks with EGP-6 reactors); and 2 power blocks with fast neutron sodium cooling reactors (BN-600 and BN-800).
